Calcium chloride performance at flake economics.
DOWFLAKE™ Xtra is 83–87% calcium chloride in flake form, meeting ASTM D98 Type S Grade 3 Class B. Like all calcium chloride it gives off heat as it dissolves and keeps working well below the point where rock salt stops, but the flake form and lower assay make it the more economical way to buy calcium chloride when you are covering large areas. Also widely used for dust control and concrete acceleration. Supplied in 50 lb and 25 lb bags, FOB North Brunswick, NJ, by the pallet or the truckload.
